Le stage Clown à travers le masque, « Clown through the mask ».
Le stage propose une manière de travailler le clown qui prend ses
racines dans le remarquable travail de Richard Pochinko. Il a tissé des liens
entre les traditions clownesques européennes et celles des communautés
amérindiens (Amérique du Nord) où le clown est sacré et a une place toute
particulière au sein du groupe. Lorsque les masques sont portés et explorés,
divers caractères émergent et permettent la constitution de son clown. Nous
construirons un clown qui parle d'aujourd'hui. Il n'est pas simplement une
collection de gags, mais un archétype qui montre l'essence de l'interprète. Ce
clown nous donne un plus grand sens du sacré, il célèbre notre humanité, notre
animalité, et les temps où nous sommes touchés dans un moment de rire.
Sue Morrison, canadienne, a été formée par Richard Pochinko. Elle enseigne,
dirige et collabore sur le clown et le Bouffon à travers le globe depuis plus
de 30 années. Ses étudiants sont actuellement au Cirque de Soleil, Slava '
Snowshow, groupe Blue Man Group et Second City. Elle est directrice artistique
du centre de ressource du théâtre de Toronto depuis 1993, elle a enseigné à
l'école de Dell'Arte du théâtre physique, à l'école dramatique de Stockholm, et
au LUME du Brésil.

This workshop will introduce you to the Native American concept of clown, which is, “If you ever faced all directions of yourself at once, you could only laugh at the beauty of your own ridiculousness.” This is clown that gives you a larger sense of the divine in each of us, that celebrates our humanness, our animalness, and the times that we can touch each other in a moment of laughter. We need to build a clown who speaks to today, that is not just a collection of gags, but an archetype that reveals the essence of the performer. Participants are taken on a journey exploring physical and emotional worlds, color, innocence and experience.
Sue Morrison, Canadian, is the world-class teacher of performance-oriented Clown and Buffoon for more than 30 years and has been instrumental in redefining clown for today's world. An experienced performer, she is a sought after show creator, director, and consultant. Sue's teaching approach is individually-oriented, with an intense focus on developing and releasing each student's potential to bring them to a new level. Her intensive workshops allow for the emotional excavation necessary to evolve stellar performances, as exemplified by her many students in global powerhouses Cirque du Soleil, Second City, Blue Man Group, Slava's Snow Show and as individual performers internationally.
